Can you still sell your home quickly and for the best price, even without renovating it? I want to share a success story from my January home sale and partnership with a home seller in Silvermine.
The home seller has lived in her home for 38 years, and last year, she decided it was finally time to move on. Her house was well-maintained, but hadn’t seen any renovations in those three decades. While the upkeep was excellent, the kitchen and bathrooms were dated.
Last fall, I walked through the home with the seller and her family to discuss how to prepare their home to maximize their profit from the home sale. I suggested we do simple home upgrades:
A little effort can lead to big results when selling your home.
First, we removed the wall-to-wall carpeting to reveal the beautiful hardwood floors underneath. Then, we removed the wallpaper and painted the entire interior in neutral tones. While we didn't do any major renovations, those simple changes made the house look fantastic afterward.
We then listed the home for sale at the beginning of January, and what happened next surprised us. We had an incredible response from potential homebuyers. Within just four days of listing the house, we booked 77 showings and held two open houses. In total, about 75 groups attended those open houses. This means we had well over 125 showings, some of which were repeats.
Five days after listing, we set an offer deadline and received 26 offers. With so many offers to choose from, the seller could select one with a great price and excellent terms. The chosen offer included no contingencies, and we are closing quickly in early February.
This experience shows that you really can sell your house no matter what the season may be. Plus, you don’t need extensive renovations to make it happen. With my help, you can do it too.
