Meet Linda Dunsmore, Your Fairfield County Realtor

I've been helping families in Fairfield County for years, but most people don't know my story beyond real estate.

You probably know me as a Realtor. But that's actually the least interesting thing about me. So I thought it was time to reintroduce myself.

I'm Linda, and I'm originally from Montreal, Canada. Over 30 years ago, my husband John and I moved to Fairfield County with a two-year-old and a three-month-old. We were excited, definitely a little sleep-deprived, and ready to build a life here.

And that's exactly what we did. We raised three children in this community, and it became home in every sense of the word. When John passed away four years ago, this community carried me in ways I will never forget.

When we first moved here, I was working in corporate finance for an international company. I was actually on maternity leave when I was offered a promotion, and that began my eight-year commute into Manhattan. And yes, during those early years, we welcomed our third child. Three little ones at home while commuting into the city every day was quite the adventure. Those years taught me resilience, organization, and how to juggle a lot of things at once, and honestly, those skills translate really well into real estate.

Eventually, I made the leap into real estate because I wanted something more personal, more connected, and more rooted in the community where we were raising our family. That decision changed everything for me. This work lets me be part of people's lives at some of their biggest moments, and I don't take that lightly.

"This community carried me in ways I will never forget."

Giving back has always been important to me. When my children were young, I volunteered at their schools and for their activities. Now I serve on the board of the Norwalk Education Foundation and my local homeowners association. No matter the organization, somehow I always end up as the treasurer. I guess once you start in finance, there's no escaping it.

Outside of work, I'm happiest outdoors. I love walking, hiking, and going to the beach. I'm rarely awake for sunrise, but I'm a sucker for a great sunset over the water. When I travel, I'm usually looking for more of the same: beautiful beaches, great trails, and that feeling of being outside and grounded. I love the ballet, thanks to one of my daughters who danced through college. And I love my garden. My cherry tree in the spring and my hydrangeas in the summer are truly my pride and joy.

There's usually a book nearby or on Audible. And at home, Mila and Indie are living their very best lives, thoroughly pampered, usually curled up in their cat beds in front of the fireplace. I'm also a very proud grandmother to four grandkitties.

So yes: real estate professional by day, treasurer by night, sunset chaser, gardener, reader, traveler, and full-time cat concierge.

If you've been here for a while, thank you. And if you're new, I'm so glad you're here. Whether you're thinking about buying, selling, downsizing, or just considering your next chapter, I'm always happy to have a conversation.

Call me, text me, send a DM, whatever works for you. I'm here. Reach me at (203) 722-5445, [email protected], or visit lindadunsmore.com/blog.
